Do you have a passion for the Theater? The Camp Pillsbury Theater Summer Camp Program is the perfect choice for you for you this summer. At our distinguished summer camp in Minnesota, you will have fun and make friends while learning new skills and all the different aspects of Theater. Whether you chose to focus on individual skills or take part in a performance. We have classes for beginners through to our Theater Academy Program.

We want every camper to get the most of their experience here. When you are ready you can enter the Theater Academy Program where you will spend 2-3 hours a day 5 days of the week honing your skills and receiving feedback from directors and coaches. The other times of the day you can chose any activity you want to try and make new friends doing them.

Theater Performances

Campers who prefer the spotlight will be right at home with this concentration. Campers will dive into what makes acting so much fun. We will focus on transforming campers into believable actors who look and feel natural on stage.  Campers who audition for our productions can land a role in one of the many shows performed during the summer.

  •  Productions: Each session, we will produce an age appropriate musical with costumes, sets, props and tech.  As an example, some of those shows include: Annie, Grease, Beauty and the Beast and many more.  Anyone who wants to be in a musical will be.
  • Acting Classes: Campers can choose from an array of different classes such as scene study, monologues, comedy, drams and more.Campers will be introduced to the basic elements of acting.  They will learn or perfect their monologue skills and short scenes.    Campers develop techniques and build the confidence they need to create believable performances.
  • Improv: Are you quick on your feet or want to learn how to be? Then this theater minor is one you won’t want to miss. Become just as good or even better than the comedians on “Whose line is it Anyway”.
  • Tech Theatre: Campers will learn lighting, sound, set design and construction, props, costume design and construction and stage management.  Campers will have the opportunity to be the crew in all performances.
