I’m so excited to be joining the great program at Camp Pillsbury!
Singing and acting should be fun and freeing! But often, our nerves and fears get in our way and block us from the sheer joy of truthful expression. When we feel inhibited, we cut off our truest and best gifts and stifle our natural impulses. In my technique, THE PRACTICE, I teach you how to build a roadmap through your scenes, songs, and monologues that puts you on the path to your very best work. Your mind and heart will become so fully engaged in your work that you’ll feel as if you are making up every word, every note on the spot. When you’re fully engaged, you have fun! It allows you to give your audience the greatest and most unique gift you have: you. Genuine, 100% you.
My 30+ year career on Broadway has taught me how to work through the greatest challenges an actor faces when auditioning or creating a role. It’s been a privilege to coach aspiring actors and professionals alike and to see how THE PRACTICE has helped them win roles in such Broadway shows as FROZEN, HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD, and THE BOOK OF MORMON. Together we’ve turned the risk-taking act of singing and acting from nerve-wracking to exhilarating. I look forward to helping you do the same!”
Students should prepare a 1 to 2-minute solo song or monologue, memorized and ready to perform. Please have a pre-recorded track to sing to and sheet music in your correct key.
