Camp Pillsbury is closely monitoring the recent outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). We consider the health and wellbeing of our campers and staff a top priority. Camp Pillsbury is continuing with summer camp as originally planned. We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC and local health authorities in weeks to come. In the unlikely event the Department of Health closes summer camps in the state of Minnesota, or in the unlikely event that Camp Pillsbury finds it is in the best interest of our campers to close camp for the summer, Camp Pillsbury will provide our families with a full refund, or will apply funds already paid towards tuition for the 2021 summer. We ask families to remain calm, stay informed, continue using disease-prevention strategies and trust only reliable information sources. Camp Pillsbury will remain diligent in following the latest data available and will communicate with parents as we receive new information. Coronavirus prevention strategies: Vaccination: Getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and others from severe illness and reduce the spread of coronavirus. Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in public places, touching your face, or after coughing or sneezing. An alternative for soap and water is hand sanitizer, that contains at least 60% alcohol. Mask Usage: Wear a mask in public settings, especially when it's difficult to maintain physical distance. Masks help prevent the spread of respiratory droplets that may contain the virus. Physical Distancing: Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from people who are not from your household, especially in crowded places. Cleaning and Disinfecting: Clean and disinfect frequently-touched surfaces daily, including tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks. Avoid Close Contact with Sick Individuals: If someone in your household is sick, try to stay in a separate room, and if possible, use a separate bathroom. Monitor Your Health: Be aware of the symptoms of coronavirus COVID-19, such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
